Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies

Enjoy these Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies with a cold glass of milk this season. Trust me, you'll want to eat them all at once! Growing up, my mom made the best oatmeal raisin cookies. In fact, she was kinda sorta known for it. Every time she would make them, my dad would poke his head in the kitchen and ask her what she was making (actually, he does that any time anyone is in the kitchen, ha. Hi, pops!). Oatmeal raisin cookies, HELL YES. Since I was a kid, I've watched my mom run the kitchen and make our family delicious food. Whether she's baking or cooking, she knows how to make your tastebuds happy. She's taught me so much about cooking, and I can only hope to make food as good as hers! BUT I GOTTA SAY, PEOPLE. These here oatmeal cookies come pretty darn close to ... View Post

Date Apple Jam

Date Apple Jam

This Date Apple Jam combines your favorite Fall flavors into one package that, I swear, you'll want to spread on everything. You guys. I almost named this "Date Apple Jam (YOU'VE GOT TO TRY)" because it's that good. This is my first time making jam. And YES, I DID Google the difference between jelly and jam. Here's what I found: Jam is a combination of fruit, pectin, and sugar. It's boiled until the fruit is soft (quickly) and it reaches a thick texture that can be easily spread. Jelly is a combination of fruit juice, sugar, pectin, and acid. It is a clear spread (that, to me, resembles Jell-O). I did not use pectin in this recipe. It's just dates, apples, spices, and sugar. It's that easy, and you probably have the ingredients right now. I totally took a ... View Post

Fall Spiced Granola

Fall Spiced Granola

This Fall Spiced Granola is the perfect way to start your day in the Fall season. Oh, and it'll make your kitchen smell AMAZING. You know when you've been buying something your whole life that's decently expensive but you ignored/justified it because you loved that thing so much but then you realized it was super easy to make yourself so you did a major face palm? *takes breath* That's totally me with granola. I mean, I'm not going to stop buying it, but I am definitely going to make it more. IT'S SO EASY. And I'm not sure what took me so long to just make it myself. This isn't my first time making it, but I don't make it that often. When I do, I'm all like... I love this granola because it's warmth is overwhelming and the spices used will transport you to Fall, no ... View Post

Crockpot Lasagna Stew

Crockpot Lasagna Stew

Make this Crockpot Lasagna Stew for your next game day celebration - let it cook all day and enjoy at kickoff! I have such fond memories of game days in The Swamp (and all of the tailgating festivities that precede it). Let me tell you about my favorite parts. Number one: when the Gators enter the stadium. Man, this gives me chills every single time I'm at a game. And number two: GAME DAY FOOD. It's the (usually indulgent), comfort food that graces the foldable tables at the countless tailgates across campus underneath the orange and blue tents. If you've never experienced a college game day in the South, you haven't lived. Okay, that's an exaggeration, but really... it's unlike any other sporting event! So much pride, so much passion, so much history. And ... View Post

8 Kitchen Tools I Use Regularly

In a sea of kitchen tools, these eight are the ones I use regularly and find to be the most useful in the kitchen. Walk into Williams-Sonoma and you’ll see a wall of kitchen tools and utensils. Avocado slicers, garlic mincers, and even an herb stripper?! If I bought every specific kitchen gadget for every need imaginable, I wouldn’t have any more room in my kitchen. With each of these examples I could use two items to get the job done: a knife for slicing and mincing, and my hands for herb stripping. Problem solved. While I get a good eye roll from the insane amount of kitchen gadgets out there, I am a firm believer in having the essentials (or what I believe to be the essentials). My main goal in the kitchen is to create something with mouthwatering flavor. I want to ‘wow’ my ... View Post

20 Tailgate Snacks to Make This Football Season

20 Tailgate Snacks to Make This Football Season

It's that time of year, friends! That time of year where we all get together, make delicious food, and yell at the TV while men in helmets run into each other and throw a ball 100 yards down a field. That's right. FOOTBALL SEASON. Alright, I'll be honest: I used to be way more into football than I am now. I used to know every players name on every team (exaggeration, but I was pretty damn well-informed). Heck, that's why I majored in Sport Management: I loved sports. But what I love most about this season, is the FOOD. Burgers n hot dogs n french fries n barbecue and NOM NOM NOM. Alllll the comfort food. That's right - we're getting down and dirty here. Football weekends are all about having fun. Why not enjoy the food you're eating with no guilt? With all of that said, today I'm ... View Post
